I’ve been home sick the past couple of days which is far from fun. Having that said, sitting in my bed with my computer I’ve actually been able to get a few important/random things accomplished.
1. Made a (way overdue) Physical appointment.
It is SO important to take care of ourselves and so whenever I am feeling under the weather I try to remember these simple things to help speed up the road to recovery:
Sleep.
Your best weapon against any sickness is your own immune system, which works best when you’re sleeping. Try to get 10 or more hours of restful sleep to help fight whatever it is you are battling.
Drink water.
Without water, your immune system cannot function optimally. And when you’re sick, you’re at risk for becoming dehydrated and therefore it’s extra important to drink enough water.
Avoid stresses to your immune system.
It’s time to give the exercising, drinking wine/alcohol, ( if you’re a smoker) smoking, working long hours, and busy social life a rest. These things will only prolong your illness.
Pamper Yourself.
Once you’re feeling better, think about getting a massage and spending a few hours off-the-grid at your favorite spa. Massages are said to help boost your immune system and the hour+ of relaxation is energy for your mind, body, and spirit.
2. Frye boots - I have needed new boots so badly since moving to SF, and I finally made the online purchase.

3. Talked to Mama - With the time difference and my crazy schedule, I haven’t had more than 10 minutes to talk to mom on the phone in weeks. So today, we chatted it up for about an hour. It’s unbelievable how hearing her voice made me feel instantly better. We caught up on a lot and got excited about our holiday travel plans. Both mom and dad are currently down at their Florida house and mama sent me this pic below after we hung up the phone. Cant wait to visit in December!

4. Booked a trip to Guatemala & Belize (?!?!) - I’ve been wanting to book an international adventure and when my friend Sarah (pictured with the flabongo) told me she booked a round-trip ticket in February for only $375 I knew I had to jump on board! If you’ve been, please do share.
