Off to…Coachella!

+++

Via Fathom

“Everyone at Coachella is perpetually smiling. Life’s B.S. baggage has a No Entry sign during Coachella weekend. There is just something about thousands of people pilgraming from all over the world to the desert to dance, listen to music, see famous people rock headbands, and celebrate life that just gets me in the jugular. The desert is known for its incredible healing elements, and I like to believe we are all changed people when we leave. I may be projecting a profound truth onto a 72-hour party, but I stand behind it 100 percent. Is it next year yet?”

Friday play-list consists of this amazing song because…I am headed to the Sugarland/Sara Bareillies concert tonight at Shoreline! This will be my first country concert and my first concert in CA! Super duper excited. Pix to follow.

After returning from Napa and recovering for one night we kicked off our Saturday brunching at the Elite Cafe and preparing ourselves for an all day OSL adventure. Mike and Dan (the hotties pictured above) are two of my best dude friends from college who now reside in LA. The boys plus about 7 of us chicks all met at my apt for a little Saturday AM sun and fun in my backyard before heading to Golden Gate Park.

Pictures above from Outside Lands Music & Food festival. A few of my favorite things:

1 - Food Truck Forest: I had an amazing burrito and fried pickles!

2- Winelands: Dozens of wineries gather inside a huge tent and offer tastings. Genius.

3 - Music, duh. Black Keys, Muse, Girl Talk

It was like a big kids playground and I will most definitely be going back next year! Side note for next year - their mobile app was awesome and extremely helpful with interactive maps, schedules of bands, lists of food/wine, etc.

Follow OSL on Twitter.

“Outside Lands is not just a rock concert. It’s an all-encompassing concept - a miniature city that rises in the middle of the park and bustles with great local food, beautiful people and nonstop music from every imaginable genre on about half a dozen stages.” - SF Chronicle

This has always been one of my favorite country songs. Kendrick and I used to listen to country music all the time on Semester at Sea so it has been so nice to hang with him, listen to some Timmy and Kenny, drink some wine, and just relax.

[Funny thing - we are headed to The Smile for brunch. ha! I swear I didn’t plan it this way - I’m not that much of a dork.]
